Aromas: a wonderful fruit driven wine. The fresh scent of strawberries are first soon mingled with those of crème’ brulee, rich loam earth and truffles. Some currant and darker fruit notes linger in the glass.
In The Mouth: A delicious wine. The same fruit driven components appear again in this nicely balanced, mid weight wine. There is a lively acidity on the front of the palette that are quickly followed by elements of strawberries and truffles. Some white pepper and almost floral flavors appear and carry through the finish.
This wine was aged in neutral French oak barrels for 16 months.
We wanted to really showcase what the natural fruit characteristics of Grenache are, and as grown by us on Cobb Mtn. To that end we are hands off in the cellar when possible allowing Native yeasts to complete the fermentation process before being inoculated for ML in the aging barrels.
